Call for Papers
The International Conference on Computational Models of Argument (COMMA) is a regular forum for presentation and exchange of the latest research results concerning theory and applications of computational argumentation. This successful series has comprised editions held in Liverpool (2006), Toulouse (2008), Desenzano del Garda (2010), Vienna (2012), Pitlochry (2014), Potsdam (2016), Warsaw (2018), Perugia (2020), Cardiff (2022), and Hagen (2024). For 2026, the biennial COMMA event will be hosted at the CSIC Delegación de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain.
COMMA 2026 will be preceded by the seventh edition of the Summer School on Argumentation (SSA 2026). In addition to the main conference track, COMMA 2026 will include system demonstrations, as well as workshops devoted to specific argumentation-related themes.

Submission
We invite submission of original and unpublished work. Parallel submission to journals or other conferences or workshops with published proceedings is not permitted. The conference includes a Regular Track and an Innovative Applications Track. As to the latter, we encourage the submission of original papers about innovative applications, e.g., in law, medicine, e-democracy, risk assessment, intelligent user interfaces, recommender systems, argument mining, scientific discovery, etc. Innovative applications papers will be assessed in an equally rigorous reviewing procedure as regular track papers.
The reviewing process is single blind. The length of each submission for both Regular and Innovative Applications papers must not exceed 12 pages.
Paper submission, in PDF format, will be managed through EasyChair with a submission deadline of 18 April 2026 (all dates are 23:59 UTC-12, ‘anywhere on Earth’).

The conference will feature keynote talks from:

Proceedings
The proceedings of the conference will be published by IOS Press as an open-access book. Authors should prepare their submission following the instructions given by IOS Press: author guidelines.
Policy on use of Generative AI:
If authors make use of generative AI tools in preparing any part of their research reported in their paper or during the paper writing process, they assume full responsibility for all content, which includes checking for plagiarism and correctness of the entire submission. Any such use of generative AI in the production of a paper should be judicious and declared within the submission. Generative AI tools cannot be attributed as authors of papers.
Demonstrations, Workshops & Summer School
A separate call will be issued to solicit demonstrations of systems and tools, and also proposals for workshops. Details will also be forthcoming of a summer school to be run in conjunction with the conference.
